Stylishly filmed and full of passion and emotion, this is also the blackest of black comedies. The film opens with the three grisly deaths of a man and his two sons. His distraught widow asks her three daughters to seek vengeance on the men responsible. The film has a lurid, epic quality to it that immediately draws us in-saturated colors, lush music and an absurd sense of humor soak the film as well as a visceral longing of biblical proportions. This is a life or death struggle with justice in the hands of women. Directed by Aluisio Abranches. Written by Heitor Dalia and Wilson Freire. Produced by Aluizio Abranches and Eva Mariani. Starring Marieta Severo, Julia Lemmertz, Maria Luisa Mendonca and Luiza Mariani. Director of Photography, Marcelo Durst. An Empire Pictures Release. In Portugese with subtitles.
