Set in the heart of Toronto, a tenacious young Monica rebels against the family's move across town by returning to her old neighborhood to attend a meeting for the annual church procession in honor of the “Assumption of the Virgin Mary.” When Monica is denied the chance to participate as one of the processional angels, she steals the large archangel wings, only to lose them on her journey home. Saint Monica is a subtle chronicle of the spiritual and moral awakening of an isolated child who finds strength, faith and compassion in the unlikeliest place. Written and directed by Terrance Odette. Produced by Sharon McGowan, Peggy Thompson, Julia Sereny and Jennifer Kawaja. Starring Clare Coulter and Genevieve Buechner. Director of Photography, Arthur E. Cooper.
