Set in 1950s Brisbane, Australia, Swimming Upstream is a compelling and inspirational true story. Tony Fingleton, a young man from a troubled family, finds the inner strength to become a champion in spite of his overbearing father. Swimming Upstream features two of Australia's most acclaimed actors. Judy Davis, who plays Tony’s long-suffering mother, has had leading roles in Deconstructing Harry, Barton Fink, A Passage to India and My Brilliant Career, among many others, and was Nancy Reagan in the TV movie The Reagans.
