Dear Film Lovers,
Welcome to the 2005 Stony Brook Film Festival! This is our 10th year, and we are very excited about the possibilities. We will be continuing our tradition of outstanding independent feature and short films, combined with premieres and the very best of foriegn and art films.
As we plan the 2005 festival we are making sure to include lots of activities and happenings around the films. Filmmaker recpetions, passholder receptions, panels and special screenings are all in the works. Many films have already been submitted for competition and we expect many more to arrive as our May 2nd deadline approaches. Our commitment to our filmmakers and our audience remains unchanged - only the very best films play at the Stony Brook Film Festival.
The Stony Brook Film Festival has been hailed as a true success by our filmmakers and audiences alike. To our “regulars” who continue to take vacations around our festival or risk being bleary-eyed at work from our late night “sessions”- we thank you for filling our houses nightly and for energizing our filmmakers. To those who have not been here before, this is truly the summer to see what you’ve been missing. I promise everyone that this will be a festival not easily forgotten.
Over the next several weeks and months we will be updating this site with information about the exciting programs and films waiting for you at the 2005 Stony Brook Film Festival.
