Aurora Borealis is about love, family obligations, and a Minneapolis slacker named Duncan (Joshua Jackson, Dawson’s Creek). When Duncan’s ailing and ornery grandfather (Donald Sutherland) needs his grandson’s help, Duncan meets Kate (Juliette Lewis), his grandfather’s aide, and he gains a newfound sense of purpose.
