When her six-year-old niece is badly injured in a
farming accident, a young writer returns home to
the Mennonite community she left behind.
Reuniting with her sister, their two different worlds
collide as they each struggle to deal with a very
painful past. A haunting and beautifully shot debut
feature from director Sidney King, Pearl Diver is an evocative exploration
of community, family, and the lengths we will go to show
our love to one another. Cinematographer: John Rotan. Courtesy of
Panorama Entertainment.
