FOR
FILMMAKERS

Why submit
your film to the Stony Brook Film Festival? Because we treat you
right. There is no entry fee! We screen 35 mm and all forms of
beta, including sp and digi-beta. Your film will be screened in a 1000 seat theater with
outstanding attention to projection quality and detail. We work hard
to make sure your film is seen by as many people as possible. If the
house isn't full we haven't served you well!

FOR
AUDIENCES

The Stony
Brook Film Festival works hard to make sure only films of the highest
quality are screened at the festival. You’ll enjoy films screened at
convenient times in the evenings and on weekends. The films chosen are
challenging--some are fun, others are unusual and quirky, but all have
something to say. And where else can you enjoy 10 days of movies for our
low film pass price! |
SPECIAL
GUESTS

The Stony
Brook Film Festival has welcomed many special guests since we
started. In 2007 we welcomed actors Christopher Plummer and M. Emmet
Walsh, who starred in Michael Schroeder's Man in the Chair. Alan Alda was here in 2006 giving a wonderful talk to over
900 attentive guests. David Strathairn, James Tolkan and Leelee
Sobieski were on hand for the 2006 opening night film, Terry Green's Heavens Fall. Other guests have included Steve
Buscemi, Campbell Scott, Tilda Swinton, David Arquette, Jena Malone, Tim
Blake Nelson, Rod Steiger, Ralph Macchio, Frank Whaley and Mary Stuart
Masterson. Who knows who'll show up this year.

SPECIAL
EVENTS

During the
ten days of the festival, Passholders and other guests are treated to a
number of Special Events. In the past these have included panel
discussions with festival filmmakers and celebrities, Dinner Under
the Stars at JASMINE, filmmaker receptions, Q & A sessions with
filmmakers and special guests and opening and closing night parties.
Many of these events are open to Passholders only, and some require a separate
fee for entry. Details of the 2008 Festival Special Events will be
anounced along with the Festival Calendar, in early July. |
