Stony Brook Film Festival

Welcome to our 19th year! The Stony Brook Film Festival celebrates the best in independent film, all shown on one of the largest screens in the region in Staller Center’s Main Stage Theatre, beginning Opening Night, Thursday, July 17, and ending on Saturday, July 26 with our Closing Night film and Awards.

Along with films from the U.S., our international slate of features, documentaries and shorts will take you to Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Israel, Iraq, France, Netherlands, Singapore, Italy, Spain, Austria, Argentina, and Jordan.

Whether you enjoy foreign language films, American independent films or shorts from around the globe, you’re in for a unique experience when you attend the Stony Brook Film Festival. The films chosen feature powerful and growing voices in cinema and many will have directors, actors and crew members at the festival to represent them.

A FILM PASS good for all ten days of films is $85, a terrific buy with many benefits. Passholder perks include "First Entry" passholder lines, guaranteed seating up to 15 minutes prior to screening, discounted tickets for parties, and special offers from festival hospitality sponsors.

We are offering a limited number of GOLD PASSES once again this year. This pass allows patrons to sit in the Reserved Section of the theatre along with filmmakers and guests and includes a ticket to the Opening & Closing Night Receptions.

We also offer SINGLE TICKETS closer to the Festival’s opening — on sale Monday, July 7. Tickets are $10 general admission; $8 for senior citizens and $5 for students, subject to availability.

Join us and meet directors, actors, as well as rising stars in the film world as they answer your questions following many of the screenings. Mingle with them and fellow filmgoers at the opening and closing night parties for an additional charge. Enjoy Long Island’s premier annual summer arts event, the 19th Annual Stony Brook Film Festival from July 17-26.

See you at the movies!
