On New Year's Eve 1999 Juli writes a love letter to Tamas telling him that she will be waiting for him at the Bar du Rocher at 10:00 PM. Tamas reads the letter as his foreman reads his name off as one of the five miners that will be working the late shift. He cannot make their date and has no way of informing Juli about it. Their relationship has never been simple and New Year's Eve is no different. They have been unable to express their love for each other, but the last day of the century may be different for them.
