FESTIVAL INFORMATION
The Stony Brook Film Festival celebrates its ninth year at the Staller Center for the Arts, located on the Stony Brook University campus, Long Island, New York. The Festival, which showcases dozens of independent films, has grown rapidly with over 14,000 moviegoers attending in 2003. The facility, which boasts a 40' wide screen and state-of-the-art 35 mm and 16 mm projection equipment, is a great festival venue.
Filmmakers are invited to submit their 35 mm and 16 mm films for consideration in the 2004 festival. For the 2004 festival the normal entry fee of $40 for features and $20 for shorts has been paid for by Washington Mutual. The deadline for entries is May 1, 2004, although we'd love to get them sooner.
Films from past Festivals have included The Secret Lives of Dentists, Shelter Island, The Book of Stars, The Deep End, The Bread My Sweet, Don't Let Go, Almost Salinas, Diamond Men, The Grey Zone, The Weight of Water, and The Jimmy Show.
